Approved Contractors

Only approved contractors are selected to offer you insured guarantees.

PCA members offer insured guarantees for fungal rot in timber, damp proofing, wall tie replacement and structural waterproofing (specific contractors only).

The PCA (as the BWPDA) was formed in 1930 and is now the largest organisation of its type in Europe. It operates to a code of conduct approved by the Office of Fair Trading and is specified by Local Authorities, Architects, Surveyors and national bodies such as the National Trust and English Heritage.

The PCA has a comprehensive vetting procedure covering all areas of the company from technical ability to finance to health and safety. These checks are undertaken by a qualified technical officer; including checks with customers, other members in their area and regular monitoring by the technical staff. The Property Care Association is the specialist remedial division of the BWPDA.

Quote from the Guardian

The National Association of Estate Agents and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors advise that when looking for a remedial company you should make sure it is a member of the PCA (formerly the British Wood Preserving and Damp-proofing Association). Ideally it should also be a member of the Guarantee Protection Insurance which insures the work.
